My Fitness Journey

From County Cork, in Ireland now based in New York - I have been a Personal Trainer for the last 17 years where I have taught a wide range of fitness methods – including strength and conditioning, spinning, TRX, step aerobics and kickboxing.

I have managed a number of gyms – both in Irland and in the U.S. – and I now operate my own exclusive online fitness app, The Laura Dorgan Fitness App.

The Laura Dorgan Fitness App offers Fitness and Nutrition programmes to happy clients all over the world.

I have a diploma in Personal Training from University Limerick and Colaiste Stiofan Naofa. During my years in the fitness industry.

My love for fitness was developed at an early age when I got involved in sports such a squash and trampolining where I participated in Munster and National championships. In trampolining, I captained Ireland to a win over Great Britain at underage in 2001. I was also actively involved in gymnastics and was a certified judge marking athletes in competitions.

During my yeats in the fitness industry I also developed a popular workshop called “Exercising your Mental Health” where I would go to schools all around Munster and give talks on how I struggled mentally when I was younger.

I would explain to students how exercise was my outlet for feeling better in myself and showed students how they too could overcome anxieties or mental health issues by exercising.

I have also taught a step aerobics and flexibility module to third-level students at Colaiste Stiofan Naofa.

I moved to New York in 2018 managed an iLoveKickBoxing gym in the Hell’s Kitchen neighborhood of Manhattan. I was responsible for getting the location ready for its grand opening and I was in charge of day-to-day operations such as training and hiring staff.

When the pandemic hit I decided to focus on enhancinbg the ‘The Laura Dorgan Fitness App’.
